Tata Sponge has always endeavoured to conduct its business responsibly, mindful of its social accountability, respecting applicable laws and with regard for human dignity. The company’s long-term CSR objective is “to improve the quality of life of the communities we serve through long term value creation for all stakeholders”, which is in alignment with the Tata Group Core Purpose.

The Company shall allocate at least 2% of its average net profits before taxes of the preceding three years, towards CSR activities to sustain and improve a healthy and prosperous environment and to improve the quality of life of the communities it serves. The company may also utilize its products and services as suitable for its CSR activities. Any surpluses arising out of CSR projects or programmes or activities shall be re-deployed back into CSR activities and will not form a part of the business profits of the company.The company shall positively impact and influence its employees and partners in fostering a sense of social commitment for their stakeholders.

Tata Sponge Iron Limited is therefore committed to creating an alcohol and drug free environment of all employees. This would be achieved through;

• Raising awareness through the dissemination of information, education and training and by promoting healthy life styles among our employees and their families. 
• Motivating those employees who have an alcohol / drug problem to seek assistance while maintaining confidentiality about such cases.

Tata Sponge is committed to provide and promote a healthy working environment that enables employees to work without fear of prejudice, gender bias, sexual harassment and all forms of intimidation or exploitation at workplace. The Company believes that all stakeholders, irrespective of their gender, have the right to be treated with dignity.

In continuation with our endeavor towards improved gender diversity and inclusion along with creating a safe, fair and just workplace, we have put together this policy called Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH) at workplace.

In accordance with this policy, an Internal Committee (IC) and guidelines have been formed to address the issue of sexual harassment of women at work place. All women employees (permanent, temporary, contract) as well as trainees, women visiting our office premises or women service providers are covered under this policy.
